DESCRIPTION:Rotarian Gene Hernandez will speak to the Chino Valley Rotary Club on the SuperBuild project at the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday\, August 30 at 5pm. \nSee more info not he SuperBuild below: \nThe 2022 SuperBuild is approaching and as the Past District Chair for SuperBuild\, I wanted to introduce myself as well as provide you with useful information to promote within your Clubs: \n\nBuild Date – October 1st\, 2022\n\nOnce again our goal is to build one home this October and two to three homes next May.  We will be able to accomplish this through contributions from our District’s Clubs. For those that have never participated\, Super Build was designed through a partnership between Corazon and District 5300 many years ago. It is an opportunity for Rotarians\, future Rotarians\, friends and family to change the lives of families Internationally with a hands-on project….building homes! Participants can range in age from 15 to 100! There are jobs for all including painting\, passing out water\, translating\, framing\, roofing etc. You do not have to have experience to be able to join us.  We have a maximum of 40 volunteers that can sign up per each home that we build. \n\nCost – $15\,500 per home\n\nEach home costs us $15\,500. As part of those funds\, a portion goes towards education costs for uniforms and supplies to ensure through the commitment of the parents that the children stay in school. If a parent or parents need assistance with education to prepare themselves for jobs part of the monies go to Corazon for the funding of this. Training for vegetable and gardening classes to grow food plus many other community activities through the community center are also funded through this. As you can see the $15\,500 goes a long way through the efforts of Corazon\, donations and volunteers to assist those in need as well as to strengthen communities.\nBroken down to a much simpler number is that when we raise $500-1\,000 from each club\, we can build 2-3 homes!  In order to build the home in October\, we need the clubs that can send money now to send them into the District earmarked for SuperBuild.  Those that need to wait till the end of 2022 please send in money then\, so we know how many homes we will be building in May. \n\nLodging & Transportation\n\nWe will be starting our journey at 5:30 am just outside of Chula Vista and traveling by bus to the area outside of Tecate Mexico.  We will have a bus where everyone on the build will take the bus at approximately $40.00 each\, round trip.  We are getting the final price per person now from Corazon.\nWe will arrive in Mexico at the construction sites by 9:00 am and begin construction and return to our meeting place usually before or by 6:00 pm. In the past sometimes there were delays at the border due to large amounts of people\, so this may slow our arrival time on the return. The wonderful news is that in one day we change the lives of a family by giving them the protection and security of a home….again ALL IN ONE DAY!\nHotel Rooms can be secured by the Volunteers.  Suggestions are Comfort Inn 91 E.
